The Sticks
Definitely do not move to Montana in order to improve your high-tech lifestyle... let's just say I'm having some troubles getting internet and even TV! Ahh, but that's ok... the other day we spent a good hour in the backyard, hanging out, playing with the dogs, and enjoying the big sky weather. Buster's been great fun, even with us being almost surrounded by other dogs. So far he seems to be more interested in playing fetch than barking at our neighbors...
It sounds like April, May, and June are the months for rain, and
that's definitely been the case the past week or so. Today it's
coming down steadily... not a downpour, but not something you'd want
to stand in for more than a few seconds. Went to a new retaruant (new to us) called "The Bay" last night. It's a nice place, but oddly placed in the city's mall. It was all-you-can-eat ribs night, so we decided to try 'em out. The ribs were quite tasty, but Mystique and I have discovered that we're really not the all-you-can-eat types... we each finished our first plate (a half-rack) and declared ourselves done.
Turns out we were really saving room for Dairy Queen on the way home,
but it all worked out in the end. The Dairy Queen always seems to be
busy, but they're also pretty quick. Two ducks just walked by my window eating earthworms. Cool. Gotta go! jason Thu, 17 Apr 2003
Time Travelling
This guy's a crack-up: read this. What's new on the Bozeman front? Lots! We're in our house, finally, and most of our stuff is here, which is great. It just came this morning so Mystique's hard at work at home unpacking. I leave her all the crappy jobs, I guess... sorry! We pick up Buster and Tess from the kennel tomorrow, as well, so our family will finally be complete again. Ember's already running around the backyard, and Rupert's even getting in on the action. It's great to see them doing that... that's why we bought the big backyard!
We're looking forward to fixing up the house just the way we like it.
It's gonna take some work, but we're up to the challenge. First
up... Pergo in the TV room. Luckily it's a nice big rectangular room,
so Mystique and I should be able to handle it, no problem. Pictures soon! jason Thu, 03 Apr 2003
It's feeling like spring...
You know it's springtime here in Bozeman when you only get two inches of snow on your car overnight. The snow probably won't last long at all, though... the temperature's awesome outside. Everything's moving along on the house, so we'll hopefully be in it by April 15th. I think our stuff gets here on the 18th or 19th, though, so I'm not real sure what we'll be sleeping on for a few days. Work's going well -- I'm definitely enjoying the development that I'm doing. Plus I've got my linux box setup at work and it's nice to be back in the world of true emacs, gcc, gdb, and my good friend, the xfce window manager. Not much else going on... Rupert and I just wake up, go to work, drive "home" for lunch and a romp through the park, go back to work, and drive home again for another romp in the park. I get to listen to the diamondback games over the internet which work surprisingly well over the modem. Do some reading, walk down to the coffee shop... it's a pleasant life, but I'll trade it in any day to get the rest of my family up here. They're missing all the fun! More boring updates later... jason Archives 2010 : February (2) 2009 : February (2) 2008 : January (2) February (2) March (5) April (1) June (1) July (2) October (1) November (3) 2007 : January (3) February (1) March (1) June (2) December (1) 2006 : February (4) March (4) April (11) May (5) July (7) August (5) September (4) October (3) November (6) December (2) 2005 : January (1) February (6) April (2) May (4) June (3) July (8) August (5) September (3) October (3) November (1) December (1) 2004 : January (9) February (5) March (6) April (3) May (2) June (1) July (6) August (10) September (1) October (4) November (3) 2003 : March (6) April (3) May (1) June (18) July (9) August (4) September (5) October (2) November (7) December (2) |
