Things to Try
Haven't posted in a while, so I thought I'd suggest some things that my loyal reader(s) might want to try: First off, is bloglines, my RSS reader of choice. I like it for a few reasons:
I haven't really used bloglines' other features very much: clipping, blogroll, and blogging a feed entry. I do have some clippings, but I actually haven't looked at them again since saving them. Next up: del.icio.us tag RSS feeds. I use del.icio.us a lot -- most of my bookmarks are there now, nicely tagged and searchable. But it gets better: del.icio.us has a feature that creates an RSS feed for tags that you're interested. Then, if someone else tags a URL with the tag that your feed is based on, a new RSS entry will be created. For example, I have an RSS feed for sawfish, my window manager of choice. If some other user of del.icio.us tags a URL with 'sawfish', I'll be notified via bloglines so I can check that site out. It's a great way of finding new sites for things you're interested in. Next: google maps. I just love 'em, even though I think there are some more powerful mapping sites out there. They've published an API that you can use to generate maps on your website, adding markers just like google does. I haven't played with it yet, but I want to. Via this web site, I found a link to a Lisp programming style guide by Peter Norvig and Kent Pitman. Interesting reading for any developer, but I especially liked it as a fan of lisp. That's all I have for now. Give 'em a try!Archives 2010 : February (2) 2009 : February (2) 2008 : January (2) February (2) March (5) April (1) June (1) July (2) October (1) November (3) 2007 : January (3) February (1) March (1) June (2) December (1) 2006 : February (4) March (4) April (11) May (5) July (7) August (5) September (4) October (3) November (6) December (2) 2005 : January (1) February (6) April (2) May (4) June (3) July (8) August (5) September (3) October (3) November (1) December (1) 2004 : January (9) February (5) March (6) April (3) May (2) June (1) July (6) August (10) September (1) October (4) November (3) 2003 : March (6) April (3) May (1) June (18) July (9) August (4) September (5) October (2) November (7) December (2) |
